“ Course: Core Appliance Repair Training Course ($850) I took this course to build a solid foundation in appliance repair, and overall, I'm glad I did. It gave me real, usable knowledge, but there's definitely room for improvement. Pros: 1. I now understand electricity, electronics, how to read schematics, and the correct logic behind troubleshooting appliances. 2. The course taught me a proper troubleshooting process, not just random fixes. 3. My confidence has grown significantly. I feel much more collected and capable when facing a repair job. Cons: 1. Video quality - The video materials are the weakest part. Some are just recorded Zoom calls or webinars, and others feel outdated. For $850, I'd expect professional production—clear script, high-quality visuals, and a well-structured flow. Hiring a crew to "make a candy" out of your experience would be a great investment. 2. Quizzes & exams - Quizzes feel too easy. You can often guess the right answer just by looking at the options. Exams are essentially copy-pasted from the quizzes. I need more challenging, tricky questions that truly test understanding. 3. Filler content - A lot of Chuck Norris jokes and unnecessary material. The basic gas module, for example, spends time explaining how gas is transported from a facility to a house. Interesting, but not useful for an appliance repairman. 4. Short appliance overview - The section on how appliances work and what they look like felt rushed. I understand there are advanced courses for each appliance, but for this price, a bit more depth would be fair. 5. Tools section not beginner-friendly - The recommended tools are expensive (e.g., a $370 backpack). I get that you're using affiliate links to earn commission, that's fine, but please also compile a budget-friendly starter set for beginners. 6. Chaotic structure - Current module order: Module 1: Orientation Module 2: Core Operational Overviews Module 3: Tools and Test Instruments Module 4: Basic Electricity Module 5: Basic Electronics Module 6: Troubleshooting Module 7: Basic Gas Module 8: Appliance Parts Module 9: Appliance Motors Module 10: Final Exam I'd suggest: Basic Electricity -> Electronics -> Appliance Parts -> a short Gas module -> Core Operational Overviews (types of appliances and how they work) -> Appliance Motors -> Troubleshooting -> Final Exam -> then Tools at the end as a bonus.”

The answer to that question for me was always yes though.) The course material includes text, illustrations, graphs, charts, videos from the instructor as well as videos from guest presenters. This is nice to hear the information from a different angle or with a slightly different spin on it. I’ve participated in plenty of other trainings where the instructor would actually give incorrect information at points and so would call into question the validity of everything else being taught. I never got this impression once during my training here though. In fact, I chose Master Samurai Academy after hearing the difference between their instructional videos on YouTube and the videos of other instructors. The other guys never even had a chance. If you’re not willing to study, take notes, and work hard though I would recommend that you wait until that changes before taking a course because this class is in no way a “gimmie “.”
