What You'll Learn

  • The principles of how refrigerators operate
  • The common refrigerator problems you’ll see on the job
  • Specialized troubleshooting and repair of: single and dual evaporator refrigerators, split-phase and inverter-driven compressors
  • A systems approach to troubleshooting modern refrigerators

Add to Your Knowledge and Income

Ovens, dryers and washers are all fairly easy once you’ve mastered the Fundamentals. Refrigerators on the other hand add a whole other level of complexity. Not surprisingly, expertise with refrigerators is both the most in-demand and most profitable knowledge an appliance repair tech can have (okay, second-most after the Fundamentals).

Tackling the additional complexities of refrigerator troubleshooting and repair is the next step on the road to mastery. This course will make you a master troubleshooter of today’s computer-controlled refrigerators, and teach you the skills needed to repair the majority of repair scenarios.

You must already have solid training in basic electricity, reading schematics, troubleshooting, and motors. Therefore, we strongly recommend starting your training with Fundamentals of Appliance Repair. If you’re not sure whether you need to take the prereq, take our quiz.

Very good Course, enjoyed the experience. The only improvement I can suggest is more information on sealed system diagnosis. Like if I run into a starved Evaporator do I have to find and fix the leak first. What methods are available to determine where the leak is. Or if the starving is caused by blocked how can one determine where the blockage is. Also maybe a list of what tools are suggested and necessary ie, I have not worked with piping before but I soldered electronics for many 30+ years, so I think a little practice and I can do it. I will look on the appliantology site for more information also. Thanks for putting together such a detailed course. Overall I give it a 5.

The “Refrigerator Repair Training Course” game me tremendous insights into refrigerators troubleshooting. I did not know there was so much to refrigerators. It built my understanding from the ground up. I learned so much in this course and my confidence is way up. I’m no longer afraid of dealing with refrigerators issues. I highly recommend this course, it was awesome. Thank you. Abe Almonte (AKA: honeybadger)

Much more than expected. But would still like more videos like the testing of that inverter compressor; though update that one with all the testing steps to take.

This course very clearly explains how the entire process of refrigeration works, as well as the functions of all the other systems typically inside of refrigerators.

This course really gave me a much greater depth of knowledge on refrigerators building on what I have already learned in the field as an apprentice!

Very good course. I have not had any experience with refrigerators but was able to help out multiple friends with ice maker issues they were having after completing the sections. As with the rest of the program I have done so far the course is excellent.

Good, comprehensive course. Challenging.

Although my rating was 5 stars, I feel like some of the video material is too long and tends to drag. Otherwise it's good!
